Painting!! Part 3
WE HAVE PAINTED MY ROOM!
Pop the champagne, release the balloons, and smash your face into the cake, the hardest part of this entire experience is over! Sort of!
Ok, ok, but in all seriousness, my room has been painted a lovely shade of Aviary Blue, and we have touched up my brother's room with leftover paint.
I have also recorded some more footage, though not as much as before, unfortunately. I'm assuming I'll have to split the video I'm going into parts, like Day 1, Day 2, etc.
Along with finishing the bulk of painting me and my brother's rooms, the dining room and family room have been covered in scotch tape (mum even covered the fireplace with paper, which I find practical, if still funny!), and once we put Pineapple Cream all over those walls tomorrow and touch up my room, we're done with painting, and afterwards, we can finally start packing and continue the rest of the moving process! I'll admit, the whole thing has been made a whole lot easier when my mum decided not to paint the living room after all!
Before I go, let me share a story from today with y'all:
After picking up the 5 gallon bucket of Pineapple Cream paint and other painting supplies from our local Lowes, me, my dad, and my brother head to the house to start. When we get there, we unpack and start setting everything up, which means putting scotch tape on the walls and cloth on the carpet floors in my room to protect what needs protecting. Everything's going fine, if a bit slow; my mum's being extra careful, after some paint fell on some of my brother's carpeting, putting extra layers of newspapers, plastic drop cloths, and old sheets on the floor and taping them to the wall. After some time, my dad starts getting a bit...agitated. He starts getting grumpy and impatient, and starts setting the paint rollers and brushes up way too early, and tries to start painting immediately. The rest of us have no idea what's gotten into him, and we're all in a bad mood dealing with him and trying to cover the floors until I suddenly remember: earlier, while we were heading back from Lowes, he mentioned being absolutely starving! Dad was hangry! I suggested we eat, and explained the situation to my mum, and we ordered pizza and had a nice first meal in our new house, out on the deck on a sunny day.
I almost wish we'd brought a swimsuit along so we could dive into our new pool as well, but I guess we wouldn't have been able to paint anything if that was the case!
Well, that's it for today! See ya next time!
